This is the main reason that the pool needs to be rotatable, I was hoping to attach it to one of the side connetors, only to find this. In my case, it was the sorter side, and away form the Seamoth exit, so I was lucky. I thought that the Moonpool was going to be disconnected from the Multi room but after the construction was compoleted, the corridor was there. One thing I've just noticed in the Silent Running update is that you need to ignore the fact that when looking at the green blueprint while trying to find a place for the Moonpool, the automatic connection to an existing corridor o Multi room doesn't show like the other base modules. He already said it, two posts above yours. This thing needs a 90 degree rotation and the ability to attach on the end ports, or be less finicky about being placed on the ground by itself.Ĭorrection: The Moon Pool's antenna is on the REAR of the module on your model, the Seamoth launches towards your base, not away from it as indicated It has legs and so do I so I know how they work. I cant even place this blasted thing on the ground. I just want to place it up on it's legs the way it was intended. It wants to lay flat on the ground, then dig out a hole. I try to simply place the moonpool on a very flat plane with nothing to interfere around it. I deconstruct the entire base so that I can orient the moonpool the way I want, then build my base off the intended side. It insists on being longways connecting on the two panel side. There is not a rotation option like with the tube pieces, so I tried to move myself around so I am building it sideways to the tube, achieving my goal. The short side with only one attachment surface. Im down in the grand reef redesigning my resource gathering base and I decide I want to have the entrance come in on the side of the moonpool. It's seemed to me that the orientation is. Woulda been nice if I could have rotated the Moon Pool so that I didn't have to spin 180 degrees before going anywhere.Īlso, where *IS* the Vehicle Upgrade Console? Is that still a thing? Because it seems like you can build upgrades from the regular fabricator and I've not found any fragments of the Console yet, which means I can't customize my vehicles, nor can I see info displayed on the wall.Wanted to bring this up and see who else, if anyone, is experiencing the rage involved in placement. Originally posted by cyrocrystal: You either need to have one long hallway set up to connect to it and connect the moonpool to that, or place a load of foundations, place the moonpool on those, then remove the foundations and connect the moonpool. my base in my latest playthrough? Every time I launch, my seatruck is facing a cliff wall. Shoulda seen me fiddling for OVER FIVE MINUTES trying to place a Large Room, and the whole time I was wishing it was like the build system in No Man's Sky, where it lets you rotate buildings, move them closer or further away from you, etc.Īlso, I hate how you can't tell which way the Moon Pool is facing. Yeah, we really need a "move object closer, or further away from you" button. Instead, I have to make due without one of the most important modules, because it's such a picky slut. There are places I would LOBE to place a Moonpool where it VERY reasonably should fit, but it won't. In all, I love subnautica with all my heart, but as someone who lives for base making, this cooks me hard. Add to that that it's even POSSIBLE for the ghost to occupy the same space the player character occupies. This is more me venting about the build system in general, but the fact that you can't just move your reticle closer or father away while building is incredibly unhelpful. I only use nuclear for my superbases (I have two or three, in major hub areas / areas that are far from another superbase) but bioreactors for all my forward / scanner bases. Nope, Ive got a sextet of reactors with about 3 million power worth of rods in storage. I am furious that it's hitbox is so much larger than its mesh. Im pretty sure each rod is 20,000 power units. I have LITERALLY placed a double decker large room in places where the Moonpool refuses to fit. If you get done building your base, and want to squeeze it into the perfect spot, but you didn't build the correct orientation, good effin luck trying mash the picky a-hole into place. The Moonpool is fixed In rotation, locked to the first base piece you place. In this Guide I will show you where to find Moonpool fragments, Vehicle Modification Station blueprint, Reinforced Dive Suit blueprint, Power cell Charger Fr. I am so sick of how impossible it is to get the moon pool to fit where I want it.įirst. No, scratch that, I'm at my breaking point.
